THOR RACE REPORT: Desalle shows grit in Latvia.

The natural Kegums motocross circuit about an hour from the countries capital city of Riga, hosted round 7 of the FIM MXGP World championships over the weekend.

Thor’s Clement Desalle, still recovering from bruised ribs sustained at the previous round, showed his grit by pulling the holeshot in moto 1 and taking his Monster Energy Kawasaki to a well deserved second place finish.  Desalle soldiered on to 6th in moto 2 for 4th overall tying on points with Cairoli and Bobryshev.

Team-mate Jordi Tixier was welcomed back after a groin injury sidelined the former MX2 world champ.  Tixier scored two consistent 13th place finishes to build his strengths in the ever competitive MXGP class.

Max Nagl showed blistering speed with his a second place in Saturday’s qualification race after a lightning hole-shot.  Tough starts in both MXGP motos had the German digging deep to fight back through the pack to gain 7th overall for the day.

Fellow ICE-ONE Rockstar Husqvarna rider, Max Anstie, returned to racing in Kegums after an injury lay off and produced a commendable result.  The likable Brit had two solid results with 9-6 for 6th overall and is determined to carry this momentum into the next round which will be held in Teutschenthal in 2 weeks time.
