THOR RACE REPORT: Round 8, Teutschenthal Germany.

Friday afternoon thunder showers in Teutschenthal, Germany threatened to make round 8 of the  FIM MXGP World championship a quagmire, however organizers worked hard to save the “Talkessel” circuit and sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday made for a great weekend of racing.  Thor’s Clement Desalle had excellent starts in both MXGP moto’s and fought for a podium spot both times trying all he could to make a pass stick but had to settle for 2 x 4th place finishes for 4th overall.
Rookie to the MXGP class, Max Anstie,  put in a stellar performance as he pushed hard in both races to gain 8 and 6 results for 7th overall.  The Brit showed great speed and determination which should see him knocking on the door of a top 5 finish soon.
For Max Nagl, his home GP, could have ended on a more positive note.  Thousands of German fans cheered the #12 Husqvarna on but mediocre starts made it difficult for Nagl to fight for a podium spot.
An unfortunate crash for Jordi Tixier in moto 1 sidelined the likable Frenchman while he was challenging for a top 10 position.  He sat out moto 2 with an injured wrist and is a question mark for his home GP in Ernee next weekend.
