Thor Race report: Prado takes the perfect win on home soil.

Round 12 of the FIM Motocross world championship has seen Jorge Prado claim an historic victory at the Spanish GP held in iNTU XANADU' – ARROYOMOLINOS.

The MXGP rookie never put a foot wrong the entire day and after grabbing two impressive hole-shots, he checked out in both motos for a perfect 1-1 score to claim his first ever home GP win.

Fellow Red Bull KTM factory racing team-mate, Antonio Cairoli, limited the damage in his title chase as the 9-time world champ tweaked his knee in the second moto but still pushed hard to gain as many championship points as possible. The rutted and technical circuit did not suit the Italian’s current condition yet he still soldiered on.

Standing construct Factory GasGas head-man, Glenn Coldenhoff was knocking on the podium all day long but just could not edge the difference in to make it onto the box. Coldenhoffs 5-4 scores were good for 4th overall as he looks forward to moving to Lommel next weekend for another triple header in the grueling sand of Belgium.

No doubt we will see the championship start to shake up as riders and teams have to endure the physically demanding triple header of Lommel on the 18-21-25 of October.
