Thor Race Report

Thor race report: Rollercoaster weekend for THOR riders in Teutschenthal.

As the FIM MXGP world championship passes the halfway point, round 10 of the 18 Round series was nothing less than a rollercoaster ride.

Held at the Talkessel circuit in Teutschenthal hot humid conditions and high winds put man and machine to the test.

Julien Lieber almost grabbed the hole-shot and exhibited amazing speed in the opening laps of the first moto. He held 3rd for the first half of the race and then made a move on second place to pass Jeremy Sewer. Lieber succeeded in pulling a gap and looked to have second place in the bag when a high speed crash ruled him out of the race. The unfortunate Belgian was diagnosed with a fractured elbow.

Max Anstie and Glenn Coldenhoff swapped positions over the two motos with the Brit taking the upper hand in moto 2 to finish a strong 5th place with Coldenhoff following closely in 6th. The consistent result would hand Anstie 6th overall and Coldenhoff 7th overall. Team-mate Monticelli had to recover from a bad start in moto 1 but he then made amends in moto2 and rounded out the top 10.

A heavy 3 weeks of back to back races now affords riders and teams a little breather before they trek to Indonesia for 2 back to back rounds, the first being Palembang on the 7th July and the second Semarang on the 14th of July.
