KEMEA Yamaha Yamalube race report: Damon Graulus clinches Dutch MX2 title
At the last round of the Dutch championship in Mill, Damon Graulus has clinched the Dutch MX2 title. A second and a third position in the moto’s were enough for the young Belgian to stay on top of the championship standings. In the end Damon was 10 points ahead of Dutch Lars van Berkel, who finished third overall today.
For the KEMEA Yamaha Yamalube team this is the second national MX2 title in 2015. Earlier this season Brent Vandoninck got the Belgian MX2 title under his belt.
"It’s great to finish the season like this. With this championship victory I can thank everyone for their support this year. 2015 was a very difficult year for me, if not the hardest of my career so far. There were a lot of ups and downs and I struggled a lot mentally, but when I look back now I learned a lot and that will make me stronger for the future. I want to thank everyone from the team for their support and advice. The decisions weren’t always the easiest ones, but in the end we did the right thing. I’m grateful that everyone around me kept believing in me and winning this championship is the perfect way to prove them right. I can start my off-season now with a good feeling and that’s always a good thing. There are too many people to thank, but I especially would like to thank my parents, my mechanic Gino and my trainer Peter Vervoort."
