KEMEA Yamaha Official MX team: GP4 Neuquen, Argentina

The never ending trip to Patagonia is worth every hour once you arrive. The beautiful nature with stunning landscapes and a great track in the woods of Villa la Angostura was the host of the fourth GP of the season.

Benoit had a solid qualifying race finishing in 6th. Despite a good starting position things went wrong for him at the start of the first moto. Only a couple meters out of the gate Benoit tangled with Petrov and crashed. With a long race ahead Paturel gave all he had and came back to 13th.
In the second moto his start was much better and Benoit immediately got into a multi rider fight from 2nd to 7th. Once in 5th place Benoit had a big fight with Pauls Jonass. Both were wheel in wheel for half of the race but he couldn’t make a pass on the Latvian. Finishing 5th in the second moto, Benoit got 7th overall and is now 6th in the championship standings. Top 5 is only 5 points away for the French rider.

"I really liked the track here! Unfortunately I crashed in the start of the first moto. In the end I managed to get some points but I was pretty disappointed. In the second moto I had a better start and we had a nice battle. I couldn’t get passed Jonass and finished fifth, which wasn’t too bad. But I have the feeling it could have been better. I’m looking forward for Mexico now, where I have some good memories from last year."
